Your Neighbors at Faith

Faith Lutheran Church has been in Madison for over 20 years. We have grown substantially in the last few years and are excited about our fellowship facilities, youth area, and nursery. We have many opportunities for sharing God's word, outreach and fellowship (please check out the other tabs on top of the page).

Our church is a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. With the universal Christian Church, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and Sacraments. The three person of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.

Our congregation accepts and preaches the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teachings of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.

Our church holds to the Lutheran Confessions as described in the Book of Concord

Visitors

“It is truly meet, right, and salutary that we should at all times and in all places give thanks to You, holy Lord, almighty Father, everlasting God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord ...”

We welcome all visitors to worship with us.

We practice the historic liturgy of the Divine Service. In this way, we connect with the church established by Jesus Chirst over two thousand years ago. The order of service and hymns are printed in your bulletin. If you have never before attended a Lutheran Divine Service, you are in for a treat!

We celebrate Holy Communion the first and third Sunday of each month, and also on fifth Sundays. We teach that in the receiving of the Lord's Supper each person receives the true Body and Blood of Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. If you are not a member of a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod parish and desire to partake of Holy Communion, please ask to speak with the pastor or one of the elders before service. All are welcome to come forward to receive a blessing during communion.

Children are most welcome in the service. Even if they're noisy. We are blessed to have many young children in the parish, and have some activity bags available to help keep them occupied.

Please take a moment to fill out the record of fellowship even if you're a visitor, leaving us as much information as you're comfortable with. Please include your children, as this will help us keep accurate records.

We use the ESV translation of the Bible in our services. At present, we follow the three year lectionary. We recommend the Lutheran Study Bible produced by Concordia Publishing House.

Please dress comfortably, but modestly for service. Some members wear suits, others wear shorts, but please remember that we're here to worship God.
