Faith Lutheran is a Church in the Southern District of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. By God's blessing we are committed to being strongly in the Word, Christ-centered and people-sensitive, reaching out boldly with the Gospel, faithful to the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions, and marked by peace and unity in the Lord.
We welcome you to join us for Sunday Worship, Bible Studies (Wed morning, Thursday night), Youth Group, Older Wiser Lutherans Group, or one of our special Services or Community Outreach events.
The OWLs had a tour at Excellance Ambulance in Madison, AL on January 14th. The company makes custom ambulances for many customers throughout the US.
Welcome to Faith Lutheran Church
Throughout the school year, we support the efforts of Trinity Baptist as they make bags of snacks for Madison City students who may not have food on the weekends. We are collecting fruit cups and individual mac & cheese cups. The collection bin is in the fellowship hall. Thank you for your support!
RONALD McDONALD HOUSE
We are collecting aluminum tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Containers are in the Narthex.
HATS FOR THE HOMELESS & BABIES, TOO
43 hats for newborns were sent to Newborns in Need, a Christian based charity in North Carolina, with three chapters in Tennessee. Thank you to everyone who made hats for this outreach. We continue to collect hats, scarves and cold weather clothes for the homeless in our area. The collection baskets are in the Narthex.
IN KIND RECEIPTS
It’s that time again! In-Kind receipts need to be turned into the Financial Secretary by Sunday, January 26 or they will not be on your 2019 statement. Please remember, In-Kind donations can only be counted if the donation directly benefits the church or is used by the church for a specific outreach/program. For example, if you purchase paper products to be used during the Lenten meals, you could turn in a receipt for your donation. The donation would then be listed on your financial statement as an In-Kind donation for the amount on the receipt. You may turn in your receipts as soon as you get them, or all together at the end of the year. Please make sure to write on the top of the receipt what the donation went towards—ie Lenten meals, etc. Donations to a specific family or church member without being designated by or from the church would not be considered In-Kind. If you have any questions about In-Kind donations, please contact Katie Gaertner at firstname.lastname@example.org
Join your church family for a night on the town! We have a limited number of free tickets to see the Huntsville Havoc hockey team take on the Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs on Friday, January 24 at 7pm at the VBC. It’s Wizard Night so dress as your favorite Harry Potter character and win big prizes! Wizarding wands are the give-away. Please sign up on the hall board so we know how many tickets to save for you! (free tickets are first come, first served)
All Bible Studies are back! Join us on Wednesday morning at 9am or Thursday evening at 7. The Thursday group is starting the book of Genesis. All are welcome!
The youth have decided to increase their meetings to the first and third Sundays of the month from 6-8pm, beginning in February. The next meeting will be on Sunday, Feb. 2, which is Superbowl Sunday! This meeting will begin at 5pm so that those who want to watch the game can do so. Those who don’t care for football can play games. Bring your favorite Superbowl food (soups or snacks). The next meeting is February 16 at 6pm.
Thank you to everyone for the very generous Christmas bonus! You really made my day. I am blessed to work at a church with such kind parishioners! Lora Whittemore
